Katoomba is the largest town/main tourist destination of the Blue Mountains 110 km west of Sydney at 1 030 m. During 1920’s & 30’s, Katoomba became known as ‘Australia’s Honeymoon Capital’ and as mining in the area declined, tourism grew. Its proximity to Sydney has also resulted in Katoomba becoming a commuter zone for Greater Sydney.
